"PERFECTION IS ACHIEVED NOT WHEN THERE IS NOTHING MORE TO ADD, BUT WHEN THERE IS NOTHING LEFT TO TAKE AWAY. PERFECTION IS ACHIEVED NOT WHEN THERE IS NOTHING MORE TO ADD, BUT WHEN THERE IS NOTHING LEFT TO TAKE AWAY."

When you are separated by borders, oceans, languages, even time itself, it takes a leap to imagine yourself in a different country, in a different mindset, walking in someone else's shoes. That was our starting point for the project, and the inspiration for this video. Five Welsh and five Vietnamese poets took part, in the language of our choice, only Rae saw every video as it arrived, co-ordinating and directing each poet. The others only saw the video before theirs, each one therefore with a different jumping off point, and no sense of the whole. Thi Nguyen was first - arguably having the hardest job in starting us off, with her Hanoi apartment as a backdrop. We travelled around Vietnam and Wales, and Lan Anh closed the piece, on a snowy night in America.
